About Me
At the University of Alabama, I applied myself in academics and various organizations to improve my abilities in writing, photography, videography, on-air performance, and voiceover. I was a contributing writer for the Crimson White, a student newspaper, from 2020 to 2021. In January of 2022, I began an internship at WVUA 23 that lasted until graduation in May 2023. At the same time, I worked for Tuscaloosa City Schools as an English tutor to Spanish-speaking middle school students through ESL. Currently, I am completing a master's degree and working for my college's communications team as a graduate administrative assistant. In the summer of 2024, I will also complete an internship with UA's Digital Media Center before graduating with a master's degree in August.
I am bilingual, able to both read/write and discuss topics in Spanish with native speakers. I am also learning Russian, able to speak and write at an elementary level. My background in tutoring prepared me to speak about topics in front of an audience with a low attention span, improving skills in speaking, effective communication, and the use of imagery. Furthermore, I am proficient in reporting, writing, editing, and voicing news stories for most platforms. I am eager to learn more, above all.
I aspire to report outside of the U.S. and to practice in-depth, investigative journalism. I am a diligent and observant skeptic, mindful to continually acquire new skills and hone old ones, provide my own ideas when appropriate, and always ask the necessary questions.
