   Alabama Fire College Training   

About the Project

In October 2023, the Alabama Fire College hosted annual joint training exercises to simulate a response to weather disasters and public crises, inviting emergency service departments from across the state.

This YouTube video is a news package produced about the uses and need for training. Its script is downloadable below.

Google Map

This Google Map shows the path helicopters took during the training exercises. Along with boats, they helped to simulate various operations, like searches and evacuations. The two destinations shown are the Alabama Fire College, in Tuscaloosa, and Lake Lurleen outside of Coker.

You can make the map fullscreen, as well as zoom in or out, using the icons on its borders. Click on the icons or line within the map to see more details and images.
