Heating the Homeless
About the Project
When it gets cold in Alabama, the weather can present challenges for local people in need of heating, food, or shelter. Service agencies and nonprofits and Tuscaloosa help to meet these needs.
This YouTube video is a news package produced about how these services function. Its script is downloadable below.
Google Map
This Google Map shows some of Tuscaloosa County's service agencies. United Way of West Alabama, the central location, refers callers in need to the other agencies that can help them. The locations shown are Love INC of Tuscaloosa County, United Way of West Alabama, the Community Soup Bowl, Temporary Emergency Services, and the Salvation Army.
